TeamĮskay (Founder and Lead Alex is a professional software engineer, game designer and artist. The company currently has 10 employees and has grown quickly, thanks to everyone’s support on Patreon. The studio’s only focus is to build an innovative and fresh life simulation game. Paralives Studio is a new indie company founded by video game industry veteran Alex Massé. The name Paralives is a reference to parallel lives, allowing players to live different virtual lives and build homes to stage them. That’s why Paralives let’s you explore a cozy open world neighborhood filled with shops, parks, workplaces and other interesting spots to discover and meet people. Just select an object, pull the corner anchors and make that window larger or upgrade that single bed to a king bed!Ĭreating the best life for your Parafolks couldn’t be possible without enjoying what the town has to offer beyond the walls of their houses. You want to recreate your real life home? Use the in-game measuring tape to recreate the exact dimensions! You can also fully customize object colors and textures as well as the size of windows and furniture. Your perfect house contains curved walls? Paralives has the tools for that. Players can build walls of any length and at any angle. In Paralives, builders are not limited to a grid. The simulation mode allows players to explore a city full of events, people to meet and ways to make their Parafolks evolve and live a happy life (or not, if they choose to)!īuilding a dream house requires a lot of flexible tools. The game features innovative build tools that are easy to use but powerful for advanced builders. In Paralives, you are free to build homes, create characters and manage their lives inside their homes and all around an open world town. In a way, The Sims is a survival game where surviving is easy so you focus on the other things that are more pleasurable.Paralives is an upcoming doll house life simulation indie game for PC and Mac. You choose what to do because everything pays the same money you trade for anything. Then they tried to do an entire game around that in Fallout 76, but online without NPCs, you also lack meaningful social interactions.Īlso in survival games, you need to do diverse things to get diverse materials while The Sims function like regular ol' capitalism if it worked. Also, survival games don't usually have meaningful social interactions.īut I feel like since Skyrim it is clear that gaming have a need for "live in this world, build your homes, have a family" and they tried to shoehorn that in Fallout 4 and it didn't really fit. I guess the survival genre tried to do this the most, the idea of dropping you in a world and letting you live in it your own way, but survival games tend to have harsh needs like food and water and they don't really allow much customization of your home, which is often moving. I think in general this is one aspect I miss in gaming. One of the cool things of The Sims is that you mostly exist in that world, you don't really have goals that you NEED TO go after. I wonder if this thread isn't overlooking the non-gaming aspect of The Sims. Paralives seems the most interesting promisse that I seen on this thread. I guess The Guild 3 could be The Sims medieval?
